Hi! We opened the doors to the Carpe Diem shop in December 2007 which is located in the fabulous Camden Lock Market. My name is Susanne, and I have been trading in Camden since 1997. My shop in the Lock Market welcome all our amazing customers 7 days a week, and now, I am very excited to take the shop online too!A trip to India back in the late nineties was the inspiration to establish a business back here in London. A serendipitous meeting with a shop owner who's family business makes beautiful handmade leatherbound journals, led to a long-lasting work relationship, and we are still doing business together to this day. We are also very good friends. I have been selling handmade journals, albums and sketchbooks in Camden Lock Market since then and we still carry a large selection in our store. Since then, our products range have broadened and these days we mainly specialise in handmade leather bags. We work with a very talented craftsman and his team who learned the art of leather bag making from his father, who in turn learned from his father. Our range of products also includes gifts, home goods & accessories. Most of these products are sourced from small family businesses in India and other parts around the world. The result of a passion for sourcing and developing beautiful products combined with a love for design is Carpe Diem, and I hope you will love our products as much as I do!
